The Inaugural Editorial

The journal’s first publication is out: the inaugural editorial, Silent Failures in Scientific Software: On the Founding of Examen Silentii. It sets out why the journal exists, what counts as a silent failure, and what kind of work it will publish. It’s archived on Zenodo with its own DOI and listed on the Articles page.

The first examination articles are next. If you’ve found a case where scientific software or a public dataset gets something wrong without saying so, the submissions repository is open, and so is the form to volunteer as a reviewer or editor.
