Maintainers
This page is for the maintainers of software or data examined in an ExSil article.
Why you may have been contacted
Authors who submit to ExSil must report the problem they found to you before submitting. If your project is the subject of a submission, the handling editor will also invite you to take part in the review.
What you can do
- Comment during review. You may comment on the submission issue at any point, for example to correct a factual error, explain intended behaviour or describe a fix.
- Submit a response. You may write a formal response to the examination. Responses that meet the journal’s standards of accuracy are published alongside the article, with their own DOI. Use the Submit a maintainer response form in the submissions repository.
- Ask for a correction after publication. If a published article misstates the facts, contact the editors through the submissions repository. Corrections are made openly.
Time to respond
Maintainers are given at least 30 days after the invitation to submit a response before an article is published. The editors will extend this on request where a fix or release is in progress.
What the journal will not do
ExSil does not publish unverified claims, ridicule of projects or their maintainers, or details of a security vulnerability before the project’s security policy permits.
